I received this overnight mask in my Birchbox and
after learning more about the brand I have decided to try this product and see how it performs.
Akane is a brand of French organic cosmetic line founded by Aline Fouler. Main ingredients are red apples and leafs harvest from Akane, a Japanese red apple tree, rich in antioxidants which are known to be effective in fighting aging of skin and protecting skin against environmental damage.
Akane Mask Cocoon Nocturne |
This nocturnal mask is packed full of red apples, extract from black tea and hyaluronic acid. Red apples and leaves are loaded with antioxidants, black tea extract contains vitamin C and vitamin E and is great to prevent acne and mimic wrinkles plus, hyaluronic acid hydrates skin intensively by helping to retain over a 1000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin. All together these ingredients create a protective cocoon to nourish and restore radiance to your skin.

While in pot, it has a funny sponge-like texture (what I imagine Flubber must feel like). Once applied to skin it changes to a smooth texture which is a bit sticky at first, but after a while absorbs completely without leaving any oily or sticky residue. The scent is fresh but not overpowering so you won't even notice that you have mask on while you sleep.
In the morning, I had a feeling that my skin absorbed everything and there wasn't left any product to rinse off. My face looked bright and rested, like it got its own beauty sleep.

Overall, I think this is a great overnight mask, especially if you have a dry skin since it acts as a great moisturizer. It is also perfect for the colder moths, when we are all fighting dryer, dull looking skin, or as a first aid for a long distance flights.
You can pick up Akane Mask Cocoon Nocturne from here if you are in Spain or from their official site which I believe is only available in French, both at 18€ for 30 ml.
Did you try any Akane products? How did you like them?
Do you have any overnight treatments you swear by?
